Message in a Bottle!

As The Kiwi Bottle Drive photo says ‘Always wanted to send something cheeky to parliament? Now’s your big chance!

Their Message in a Bottle campaign involves people sending thousands of messages in bottles to parliament and Scott Simpson MP to tell them we want ‘bottle deposits’ for cleaner beaches and healthier communities.

There is no time to waste, our oceans are sending out an SOS!

Find out how you can send your very own #messageinabottle on their website , or call in at the EcoCentre – we have the petition to sign if you don’t want to do it online, and we have print outs of the address labels to take away and use. These are both individual labels and sheets of 6. All you need to do is tape one on to a plastic bottle, squash it flat and post it away!

The labels have a space for you to write your own message on – if you find bottles lying in the street, or on the beach write that on the label when you send it in, to make the point about them currently being a litter problem. But whilst it might be tempting to send a dirty, smelly bottle to an MP please be considerate of the postal workers who will have to handle it first and make sure bottles posted are clean!
